Learn to Crochet a Wearable! 

LEVEL: Advanced/Adventurous Beginner 

PREREQUISITES: Basics of crochet - chaining, working back and forth in rows, counting stitches, half double crochet (HDC), double crochet (DC)

CLASS DESCRIPTION:

This class will teach you how to take on all of the steps to make your first crocheted garment! 

Specifically, we will go over the skills needed for the following: 

• Questions to ask and what to look for when choosing a garment pattern

• How to measure yourself in order to choose a size for a garment

• Swatch and make adjustments to meet gauge for a specific pattern 

• Make a “shopping list” for needed materials for a pattern 

• Basics of reading directions for a garment pattern

• …and more!

Open to ages 8+

Maximum class size is 5 participants

PATTERN

The instructor is bringing “practice” pattern sheets so that everyone can all go over the same info together in different formats. If you have a specific pattern that you want to make, to bring a printed or downloaded copy with you and we can integrate it into the class.

REQUIRED MATERIALS

• Recommended DK Weight Yarn - We Recommend Malabrigo Rios or Indigo Guinea Fiber

• US G  (4.0MM) Crochet Hook if using the recommended yarn above

OPTIONAL MATERIALS (all available in store and online)

• favorite crochet hooks in a variety of sizes

• 3+ “locking” stitch markers

• scissors

• tape measure 

• writing utensils
