Introduction to Short Rows - Knit Class (Class Fee) - Saturday, October 10th, 11:30AM to 12:30PM

LEVEL: Adventurous Beginner

PREREQUISITES: Must know how to cast on, knit, and purl.

CLASS DESCRIPTION: 

This class will teach you three different short row techniques (German short rows, wrap & turn, and yarn-over) and how short rows can be used to add shaping to your knit garments. This technique can be used to improve the fit of a neckline, add bust shaping, and even create a sock heel!

Before class, you will need to start a basic stockinette swatch (instructions below), and keep it on your needles. Do not cast off!

SWATCH INSTRUCTIONS: 

• Cast-on 24 stitches

• Knit 4 rows

• Row 1 (RS): knit to end.

• Row 2 (WS): k2, p to last 2 stitches, k2.

• Repeat rows 1-2: 5 times (so you’ll have 10 stockinette stitch rows)

• Bring swatch to class on your needles. We will use this to practice different short row techniques!

MATERIALS:

• Stockinette swatch (instructions above)

• We recommend using scrap DK or worsted weight yarn from your stash!

• Stitch markers

All materials are available for purchase at A Yarn Market. Please purchase materials and choose yarn color prior to class. We recommend arriving 15-20 minutes early to wind your yarn in store, or winding yarn at the store when you purchase beforehand. Store hours can be located here. 

POLICIES

• Class fee does not include the yarn or needles. Materials are available at A YARN MARKET for purchase before class.

• Classes require a minimum of three participants to be conducted. If fewer than three participants are enrolled, a private lesson may be offered, or the class fee will be credited back to you.

• No refunds. Please note that missed classes are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled. 

• Class dates are contingent upon weather conditions; extreme weather may necessitate rescheduling.
