This advanced beginner-friendly class is the perfect place to start. You'll learn the basics of sweater shaping while creating a wearable, comfy cardigan - no prior garment knitting needed.

Along the way, you'll pick up essential techniques like knitting, purling, increasing, and finishing.

Even better? You'll be surrounded by other enthusiastic knitters.

Prerequisites: basic knowledge on how to cast on, knit, and purl - if you do not know these skills, we have a beginner knit class on the 2nd Sat of the month

Saturday, September 6th and Sept 20th from 9:30a to 11:00a (two - 1.5 hour sessions) *before store hours

MATERIALS NEEDED

• Yarn and needles available at A Yarn Market - please pre-purchase so we can start class on time
• yarn - Malabrigo Rasta (pictured in Amphibian colorway) - 5 to 6 skeins depending on size
  
• needles - US 13, 15 and 19 circular (knit flat - so flexible options for length, Ali used US 13 in 16" interchangeable tips and cord for US 15 and fixed US 19 24" and 32") - all cord and tips available at AYM 
• pattern - Nanaimo Cardigan by Good Night, Day https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/nanaimo-cardigan
• measuring tape or wrist ruler
• tapestry needle for finishing

• Class fee does not include the yarn and hook. Yarn and hooks are available at A YARN MARKET for purchase before class - arrive 15 min early to purchase same day or on a day before class to wind
• No refunds. In case of a cancellation with 24 hour notice, store credit will be offered for class. If advance notice is not provided, no refund or credit will be provided.
